Our Year 3 maths program is designed to build a strong foundation in key concepts, fostering a deeper understanding of mathematics compared to their peers. The program focuses on essential skills such as time, area, fractions, distance, and weight, while also reinforcing the concepts they are learning at school. This comprehensive approach ensures a solid grasp of the fundamentals, empowering students to excel in their senior primary years.
Our Year 3 English program emphasises both reading and writing, nurturing children's abilities in vocabulary, comprehension, and both creative and persuasive writing. These skills not only lay the foundation for future academic success but also enhance their capacity to absorb new knowledge and express their thoughts and ideas with clarity and confidence.
Our Year 3 Thinking Skills program is designed to develop core abilities such as problem-solving, analytical reasoning, visual reasoning, and pattern recognition. These essential skills play a vital role in broadening a child’s cognitive capabilities, paving the way for accelerated learning and growth in the future.
Our Year 4 Maths program builds on the foundational concepts learned in Year 3, reinforcing these ideas while introducing new topics such as angles, speed, ratios, graphs, and Cartesian planes. This comprehensive approach equips your child with the knowledge, support, and confidence needed to excel in Year 4 and seamlessly transition into Stage 3.
Our Year 4 English program builds on the reading and writing foundations established in Year 3, delving deeper into writing techniques to enhance both quality and delivery. The program emphasises effective communication and mastery of various writing forms. In reading comprehension, students focus on analysing closed passages and extracting key information, sharpening their skills not only in English but also in quickly assimilating new knowledge across all areas of learning.
Our Year 4 Thinking Skills program builds on the foundation established in Year 3, further enhancing core abilities while introducing them to those new to the program. These skills include visual reasoning, abstract reasoning, pattern recognition, and analytical reasoning, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
At the heart of these programs is a dedicated focus on preparing your child for the OC test, undertaken in Year 4. Drawing from our own experiences within the OC system, we aim to empower students to perform at their best, helping them achieve their goals and encouraging them to strive for excellence throughout their academic journey.
Our Year 3 and 4 WEMT (Writing, English, Maths, and Thinking Skills) classes run for 2.5 hours per session and are priced at $72 per lesson.
